Elk Farm Tour a Success

An estimated 700 people took in the Regal Point Elk Farm tour as part of a fundraiser for the new Peninsula Shores playground equipment.

While organizers are still tabulating the funds, they did say the event was a huge success expressing thanks to farm owners Dale and Eric Robinson. Robinson is also a Rotary member and chairman of the Playground Equipment fund. Prior to the tour the club had almost reached their goal of $30,000.

Saturday the tour included continuous wagon tours into the Elk fields where visitors got to see the majestic elk, including one of the largest antler racks

in North America belonging to Samson, a 5-year-old bull elk. They also got to hand feed peanuts to the animals.

Seminars were ongoing throughout the day with educational information about Elks, CanEVA (The Elk Velvet Antler), an arthritis control choice of many in South West Ontario. Frank D and the Dreamers provided entertainment, there was plenty of food available, including elk burgers, and there was a 9 hole mini golf course compliments of ReMax Realty.
